Cosumnes River battled #14 Sierra to a hard-fought 2–2 tie in a thrilling matchup. Sierra opened the scoring in the 10th minute with an unassisted goal from Addison Johnson. Cosumnes River answered in the 20th minute as Mia Buijten found the back of the net to even the game at 1–1. Sierra regained the lead shortly after with Taylor Rapiz scoring in the 24th minute, but the Hawks weren't done.
With under ten minutes remaining in the first half, Ellie DePaco, assisted by Sadie Stoll, delivered a critical goal to tie the match at 2–2. Both teams created chances throughout the game, with Cosumnes River outshooting Sierra 10–9. Goalkeepers Kylee Chapman recorded multiple saves to keep the team in the contest.
Despite the back-and-forth action, neither team could break the deadlock in the second half, leaving the Hawks with a hard-earned draw against a top-ranked opponent.
