Cosumnes River College went toe-to-toe with No. 16 City College of San Francisco on the road Friday night, pushing the ranked Rams before falling 62–51. The Hawks were within striking distance throughout against one of the state's top programs.
CRC's resilience showed in spurts on both ends of the floor. Zakara Cooper delivered a strong all-around performance off the bench with 12 points and 11 rebounds, anchoring the Hawks inside, while Aletha Singleton paced the starters with 10 points and six boards. Despite shooting inconsistencies and missed free-throw opportunities, Cosumnes River forced CCSF to earn every basket.
Against a ranked opponent in a hostile environment, the Hawks proved the ability to compete with elite teams as they continue to build momentum heading into the rest of the season.
