Hawks Cruise Past American River With Four Hawks In Double-Digit Scoring
Cosumnes River turned in a dominant all-around performance on Wednesday night, defeating American River 74–34 in conference play. The Hawks set the tone early and blew the game open with a decisive stretch in the middle quarters, outscoring the Beavers 54–10 in the second and third quarters combined.
Ariel Bailey led the Hawks with a game-high 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting, knocking down three three-pointers to pace the offense. Aletha Singleton followed closely with 15 points, connecting on 3-of-4 attempts from beyond the arc, while Peyton Thorpe added 15 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting night. Kymberly Hartman chipped in eight points, and Fifita Grewe provided a strong presence off the bench with 11 points, including a three-pointer.
Cosumnes River shot an impressive 60.9 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from three-point range, showcasing balanced scoring and offensive efficiency throughout the night. The Hawks' defensive pressure stifled American River, holding the Beavers to just two points in the third quarter and 34 points for the game.
