Cosumnes River College delivered two clutch performances to sweep a doubleheader from Sacramento City College on February 28, rallying late for a dramatic 7–6 walk-off victory in Game 1 before securing a 2–1 pitching duel win in Game 2.
The opener featured a back-and-forth battle that was ultimately decided in the bottom of the seventh. After Sacramento City took a 6–5 lead in the top half, the Hawks answered immediately. An RBI single tied the game before Nina Najafizadeh drove in the winning run on a fielder's choice to seal the comeback. Alexis Hoke powered the offense with four hits and three RBIs, while Charlize Fasula added two RBIs and Emma Misasi chipped in an early run-scoring hit to help build momentum.
Game two turned into a tight defensive contest, with Kaylena Ogle delivering a standout performance in the circle. Ogle tossed a complete game, allowing just four hits and one run while keeping Sacramento City's offense in check. The Hawks struck first on a sacrifice fly from Ashley Garcia, and later Imani Black came through with the decisive RBI double in the sixth inning to put Cosumnes River back in front.
Behind timely hitting and strong pitching, Cosumnes River secured the sweep and showed its ability to win both high-scoring battles and low-scoring defensive games.
