Mafnas (49.27) and Pitcock (51.28) Lead Cosumnes River at Meet with 142.5 Points
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Cosumnes River College delivered a strong showing in the pool, posting 142.5 team points behind standout performances from Jonah Mafnas and James Pitcock. The Hawks recorded six personal bests (27%) across 22 entries, highlighting continued progression as the season unfolds.
Mafnas led the charge with a runner-up finish in the 100-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 49.27 to earn one of the team's top point totals of the meet. He added depth with a 22.89 in the 50 free and a sixth-place finish in the 50 breaststroke (30.45), while also contributing in the 100 IM (1:03.70).
Pitcock followed closely with a well-rounded performance, placing fifth in the 100 free (51.28) and seventh in the 50 butterfly (26.53). He also posted solid swims in the 100 IM (1:03.07) and 50 backstroke (29.05), continuing to be a consistent contributor across multiple events.
Additional efforts came from Ahmad Rahim, Alexander Lal, and Pavel Perzhu, who helped round out the Hawks' lineup as the team emphasized depth and development throughout the meet.
Cosumnes River's performance reflects steady improvement, with multiple swimmers turning in competitive times and building momentum heading into the next stretch of the season.
