"To our CRC student-athletes,
As the 55th year of athletics at Cosumnes River College comes to a close, I want to take a moment to simply say thank you. Thank you for the commitment you bring to CRC every day. Thank you for the pride you take in wearing CRC across your chest. Thank you for continuing to make this department, this campus, and this community such a special place. Expectations seem to rise each year, and each year you continue to not only meet those expectations, but take the athletic and academic standards of this department to new heights. The accomplishments speak for themselves. Eight out of ten programs were represented in postseason competition. Our softball program earned a trip to the 2026 3C2A Softball State Championships. Our teams earned 25 All-Conference selections and three All-American honors. Our department achieved a 3.401 GPA, the highest in CRC Athletics history. One hundred eight student-athletes earned Scholar-Athlete recognition, including 36 with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Those numbers matter because they reflect the people, the work, and the sacrifices behind them. They reflect your hard work, discipline, accountability, and belief in what we are building together.
When I look at those accomplishments, I am reminded of the commitment each of you brings to this campus every single day. Those accomplishments don't happen by accident. They come from the hours you put in when nobody is watching, the time spent in the Athletic Learning Center, the meetings with academic coaches, the study groups you form with fellow athletes, and the homework completed on long bus rides. I am also reminded of the sacrifice that comes with pursuing success and excellence at this level. The early morning departures, long in-season practices, extra strength and conditioning sessions, time spent with athletic trainers recovering from injuries, and the hours spent watching film while balancing everything that comes with being a full-time student. You competed at the highest level in what is arguably the most competitive community college conference in the state, if not the nation, while continuing to lead in the classroom and in our community. That combination is what makes CRC special.
There is no better place to be a student-athlete than Cosumnes River College, and that is because of you. Our student-athletes and staff are what make this such an incredible place. You are the reason our campus feels alive. You are the reason our programs continue to grow. You are the reason this is a place people want to be. You have represented this institution with character and integrity. You have made your coaches proud. You have made your families proud. You have made our entire community proud. Thank you for everything you gave to this athletic department, to your teammates, and to each other. Thank you for your commitment, your resilience, your leadership, your sport, and your time here. The legacy you are leaving will continue to shape CRC for years to come.
I am incredibly proud to be your Athletic Director."
