Bio
Shannon Busse joined Cosumnes River College as a full-time Athletic Trainer in August 2026 after serving as the department's interim Athletic Trainer during the Spring 2026 semester. Prior to joining CRC full-time, she worked as a part-time Athletic Trainer at Sacramento City College, where she provided athletic training room and event coverage, injury evaluation and rehabilitation, concussion management, and comprehensive care for student-athletes. She also assisted in mentoring athletic training students and participated in weekly orthopedic clinics to support student-athlete health and recovery.
Before returning to the collegiate setting, Shannon served as the Sports Medicine Teacher at Bear River High School, where she developed and led the school's Sports Medicine pathway program. In that role, she provided students with hands-on instruction in athletic training, injury evaluation, rehabilitation, and healthcare practices while preparing them for careers in sports medicine.
In addition to her collegiate and secondary school experience, Shannon has worked in physical therapy and injury prevention settings, bringing a well-rounded approach to injury prevention, rehabilitation, performance, and student-athlete care.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from California State University, Long Beach and is a Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer.
