Another Long Week For Softball , Update

This week started off rough after getting rained out on Tuesday against Folsom. They were lucky enough to make it up the next day and traveled to Folsom Wednesday for a single game. With the help of Courtney Lozano at the plate and on the mound the Hawks pulled out a 6-4 victory. Lozano, Baccay, Cisneros, and Benfiet each collected two hits to lead Cosumnes River

On Thursday Delta came to Sacramento for a single game. Unfortunately the Hawks fell to Delta 8-0. They only tallied one hit, a double from sophomore Ashlee Kaiser. Other than that they were quiet for that game. Courtney Lozano still threw a pretty good game only allowing seven hits, five runs and striking out three.

On Saturday, Sierra came to CRC for a double header. The first game was a great game for both teams. They went nine innings after being tied at 2-2. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Cosumnes River tied things up at two when Ryley Krum's sac fly scored one run. They unfortunately were not able to score in the bottom of the ninth after Sierra score one on a wild pitch. Mary Baccay went 2-for-4 at the plate. The second game also was a defeat for the Hawks. They lost 9-5. Rebekah Pedersen gave up 10 hits and 7 earned runs. CRC had a bright spot when Ryley Krum hit a 3 run home run. She went 2-3 in the game. Mary Baccay had two hits in four at bats.

This Sunday, Fresno came to CRC for a single game na d to complete a game from January that was delayed due to darkness. The Rams defeated our Hawks 6-4. Their downfall would be the runs scored on four errors. Hannah Steege and Courtney Lozano led the team hitting 2-3 in the game. They tallied four of the eight hits in the game. Lozano came if after Pedersen struggles and gave up 3 runs in the first 4 batters. Lozano then gave up three more runs. Following that game they started in the bottom of the fifth inning winning 6-4 from the January game. They added on 2 more runs and secured that win.

Next game for the Hawks will be at Diablo Valley this Tuesday at 3 pm. Next home game will be the double header against ARC on Saturday. Be sure to follow on game changer.
